Here are belated photos from my baby bear's first birthday party, or as we call it in Korean culture, her dol. The dol is a huge celebration, and usually there's a table full of mounds of traditional rice cakes and fruit - or in this case, rice cakes, macarons, cupcakes and rice krispies. I love my sweets! The highlight of the party is a ritual when the child selects a single object from a number of objects placed in front of her. This object symbolizes what she will become in her future. Noa picked the pen, meaning she will become a scholar! The party took a lot of work, mainly since I didn't want to hire a planner, but thankfully with amazing friends and family we were able to pull it off. A special thanks goes to my good friend Jen, and her etsy store LoveMercat which showcases her artistic talents.
Happy birthday, Noa Bear!

ReplyDeleteHi! Absolutely gorgeous party and congrats! I've been a silent reader of yours for a while and have loved and missed yours and Carolyn's outfit posts. Keep them coming and keep them often : )
ReplyDeleteBaby shower program and baby birthday programs both the concepts are completely differ from each other; but the way of celebration is almost equal. We used to celebrate birthday with the help of cakes, gifts and several other items. But the theme should be different and unique which makes our birthday celebration awesome and innovative. From here we should learn some good instructions on how to celebrate a baby birthday program; I am really thankful to get this article and learn some important way of celebration theme from here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the photographs. I just love sweets especially the chocolates. At my birthday party there were 4 different kinds of deserts. You know I celebrated my 18th birthday last month at best event space San Francisco.
