Teagan's Winter One-derland

Eek! Has it really been almost a year since I last posted? This blog is supposed to promote making time to live, especially when things get busy, and I promise that I've been fulfilling this offline but I apologize to the few devoted readers out there that I haven't been present to share this with you. This past year has been a whirlwind as I try to navigate this new world of motherhood. There are so many resources out there on sleep training, breast-feeding, baby gear, etc. but no one prepares you for the mental and emotional struggles of this journey.

For me, surviving the first year was a big milestone. So to celebrate, we threw a winter wonderland themed party. Since Teagan's birthday is close to Thanksgiving, we decided to host the party back in Michigan and use this as a chance for us to introduce her to our extended friends and family. Planning from California was no easy feat but I was fortunate to find some great vendors to help my vision come to life. And I exercised one of the many lessons I've learned from motherhood - learning that compromising is not the same as settling - tough lesson for a person who has obsessive compulsive tendencies!

During my absence, I've been thinking about what direction to take this blog. Over the past few years, we've featured fashion, lifestyle, recipes, and DIYs. While we'll continue posting about these topics, we'll also be focusing on some issues regarding work-life balance, specifically those aspects that relate to motherhood in medicine. We hope this will be of interest to our reader base. Last but not least, we want to say thank you to the handful of loyal readers who keep checking back and leaving comments.

That's all for now. Stay tuned for more...

xo,
Carolyn

  1. I checked back on a whim and so glad I found this update! Congratulations on this milestone for both you and your girl! My daughter turned one last month, and I echo everything you say about new motherhood. It would be great to see new topics for working moms.
